It's going...

i've got like 3 blogs to plan & finish so i'll just do them in order, though late as usual. I think I have issues with being early, so I'm often late. It seems like such a waste of time to be early. Chris likes to be early to church, but sitting there an extra five or ten minutes with a two-year old isn't something I'd plan on my own. There's only a few places I like to be early to--the temple, a trunk-or-treat, and amusement parks. Ususally, I think just on time is just fine.

Summer is going well. The kids I went to a couple of u-pick berry farms. Last Monday was blackberries & that was fun because all the plants are thornless. Wednesday we went to a blueberry farm because Colton & Chris love blueberries in pancakes & muffins. Me, not so much--the texture of blueberries isnt' so great. The kids didn't enjoy picking them so much. It's a lot harder to fill a bucket with those tiny things, one at a time. But they were allowed to eat 'em while picking and that helped ease their pain. On the way home was the new outlet shopping mall on 290 so we stopped. I took five kids shopping to a mall! It actually turned out to be a pleasant experience and the kids got stuff from Quiksilver and vans and a father's day present for Chris form Underarmor and I even spurged on Great American Cookies--paying over $1 a cookie is ridiculous--so it's like once-in-a-lifetime for them. Though I heard too many complaints while I tried to look at Kenneth Cole so I'll have to leave them all home for that.
We just made it home with five minutes to spare to get Jake dressed with a lunch (dinner) and off to cub camp. It's always interesting to have one kid off and away. It kinda throws the dynamics off for the whole family--though that's not necessarily a bad thing. The household noise and driving to & fro from Colton's practices was much more peaceful. Don't worry I'll have all good things about Jake coming up in his b-day post. We wouldn't want to be a family without him.

And my niece (Tia) & family are off to Scotland. Haven't heard what's up yet, but now her sister, another niece, is moving in their house next month & expecting a baby in a couple of months and that should be fun. When Matt & Tia were leaving my thoughts were "The Lord giveth and He taketh away" but now he "giveth" again. Yeah for me!
