My week at a glance

This is why I never thought I could blog, the mundane details of my life should remain secret. I thought I would share a little of each day anyways, but can't bring myself to do it. The highlights of the week were planting or digging up and replanting about 30 plants, getting my hair done and painting the rooms above the garage. I helped Eli make many batches of play dough to sell at Market Day. He begged me to get candy bars to make bookmarks with (using the wrappers), so I caved, but the bookmarks didn't sell so well; but he's such a happy kid and I'm glad he tried. I was also pleased that Colton handled his responsibility as the Deacon's president well with the first activity he was in charge of--they played blacklight dodgeball. He was so relieved when it was over. I'm thinking "who was the one who searched for and bought the balls and made sure you had your blacklights, etc". The relief was all mine.

The bummer part of the week was discovering both my primary counselors are moving soon. I'm tired of having so many of my friends move away. I should just learn to be grateful for the good times had and memories shared, blah, blah, blah -- it sucks every time.

Otherwise, the kids are out for spring break. Why do I always forget that it's coming? What am I going to do with them all? Chris just left for California for a few days--so it's all on me to help them spend all their energy. Hopefully swimming at the YMCA will do the trick. And Olivia's been asking why we never go on a picnic - uh, hello - it's because I gotta plan something to eat in advance and pack it all up. Since the weather's been lovely, maybe I'll try to be a good mom and endulge her. Making the kids clean before they get to do something fun is my ace in the hole. Usuallyon Saturdays as they have their chores I also try to make them get their rooms "as clean as possible", though yesterday Jake claimed "that's impossible!" (so illogical) and he enjoyed the new Super Smash Bros on wii with his cousin Jon most of the day--so I failed, not the first and last time. So life's busy and I've got to sign four of 'em up for swim team this week. Masochistic, that's me.

Hey, I'm coming back and there are more good times to be had!!

If you want company for a picnic, I'm game...just give me enough time to prepare something to eat since we don't have picnic food on hand normally, and you would think that we didn't have any food on hand with the way Kalani always wants to eat at YOUR house!
